Additional Details

- Young, energetic dog with a big personality who's almost always on the move; LOVES playing with all kinds of toys, including frisbees and balls

- Enjoys spending time outside and having lots of space to run; will bounce around the yard and chase anything you throw for her

- Previous family said she liked to follow them around the house, but once she's in her kennel she does calm down and rest

- Extremely intelligent and food-motivated; learned to sit in less than 30 minutes and responds well to consistent structure and calm handling

- Still working on potty training, but with regular outdoor breaks and a consistent routine, she has the potential to pick it up quickly

- Still working on her manners - including mouth manners and paw manners - and would love someone who can work with her consistently and positively; she is SO SMART and would be a great candidate for ARL training classes!

- Will need lots of appropriate dog chew toys and some supervision indoors until she learns what is OK to chew on

- Can be too much for young kids, and possibly even preteens, right now and will likely do best in a home with more mature family members

- Can be socially awkward with other dogs and may be too much for some dogs (dog intro recommended)

- Needs a home with no cats, small pets or fowl

- Overall, a bright, motivated, strong-willed dog who is looking for a patient, structured, active adopter who can work with her on training and calm behaviors and provide appropriate outlets for her energy - she will be a really fun dog for the right, active person!

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
