Additional Details

- Slightly clumsy and took a tumble the first time he tried the stairs in his foster family's home, but now uses them like a pro

- Loves his chew toys and running around in his foster family's yard

- Does pretty well on a leash, foster family says he just zig-zags sometimes to check everything out

- Foster family says he does well in a crate and has been making good progress on potty training; has been able to make it through the night with no accidents

- Gets so excited to play with the cats in his foster home, then bummed when they don't want to play

- Fun, happy, playful young dog who doesn't think he is different from anyone else!

- Underwent extensive medical care here at the ARL over many weeks (see below), and as a result he has a limited skill set, although he wants to please and tries very hard to be his best possible self

- Currently has many typical "young puppy" behaviors like jumping up, softly mouthing and struggling to regulate his emotions; to aid in his success in his new home, adopters will receive 50% off ARL training classes

- Really great older pup with a fun-loving personality and tons of potential - he just needs the right patient person to give him a chance!

- Has a bony mass that covers part of his face and has affected his outward appearance; we removed a section of the mass and sent it for testing, which found it most likely is a benign osteoma; the mass does not currently affect his quality of life and may or may not require surgical care in the future (more info at ARL)

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
